The 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐖𝐞𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 (𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐖) is back! As part of the 10th installment of the National Geology Congress (NGC), ESTW continues to focus on equipping high school teachers with supplementary knowledge on how to teach Earth Science in the new curriculum. For this year, the theme 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐬: 𝐀 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 covers the extensive geologic history of the Earth and introduce the basics of mineralogy as well as how minerals are formed, identified, and are used in our daily lives. The webinar will also include a workshop on how to navigate EarthViewer, an interactive module that allows students and teachers to explore Earth’s deep history and dynamically visualize how continents grow and shift. This event is FREE and open to all science teachers across the country. After the event, a feedback form will be released, answers from which will be reviewed before providing the participants with their e-certificates.
